After your massage session, you will receive a Lifewave patch.
(This may be limited to your first massage in a month depending on supply.)

Clean the skin of any massage oil with the hot towel provided after your massage, where you intend to apply it. You certainly can wait and apply it later at home, or the following day if you prefer.
02.
I will be given instruction on where to apply it. Generally speaking, and if in doubt:
- X39: at the base of the back of your neck
- Carnosine: at the site where you have/had significant tension/pain
03.
Remove and throw away after 12 hours.

Why are these provided?
The X39 patch will complement and support the effects of the bodywork, and your overall health and well-being.
The Carnosine patch will support your body's own natural carnosine production, leading to improved muscle repair, among the many other benefits.
Are they safe?
Completely safe!
No drugs, no stimulants. Avoid placing them on wounds or damaged skin.
Don't apply it if you are pregnant or nursing.
If you do feel any discomfort or skin irritation, simply remove the patch.
How do they work?
These patches work by phototherapy, also known as light therapy.
There are multiple types of medical treatments that use specific types and wavelengths of light to treat various conditions.
How Lifewave is unique is that it uses light your body emits, as opposed to an external source.

Your body emits heat, including heat in the infrared spectrum.

Boca's story
These patches have been on my radar since 2021. I have met and talked to numerous people in that time who have used Lifewave patches for a variety of issues, with some quite remarkable results. I have used many different patches for a variety of things myself during that time.
The best story I have to share is that of my dog, Boca.
About 5 years ago, all of the sudden, he was in severe pain. I couldn't touch his back without painful yips and crying. Dachshunds are quite notorious for developing back issues (along with barking and attitudes), so the vet prescribed a muscle relaxer, a pain med, and less jumping.
After a few months we had used up our prescriptions and had no issues, and hoped we wouldn't have any more incidents.
And then we had another incident, just like the last one. The vet gave us refills on his prescriptions and sent us on our way.
About halfway through this batch of meds, we were introduced to the Lifewave patches. He started getting occasional patches on his low back about 4 years ago and he hasn't had low back pain since.
Eventually I just threw out the pain meds because they expired.
He did take quite a long tumble down a flight of stairs about 3 years ago. I was very worried that it would certainly hurt his back, but he got up like nothing happened and has never had an issue from it.
He is 10 years old now (in 2025) and we have had no back pain for the last 4 years that he has gotten his patches.
I approach most healthcare remedies with a healthy skepticism. Even when they work, my first question is typically "was that just placebo?"
